Which is more durable, industrial light conveyor belts or ordinary light conveyor belts

I. Material and Structure

  1. Industrial Lightweight Conveyor Belts:

    • Typically made of high-strength, high-wear-resistant polymer materials, such as PVC or PU, and may incorporate multi-layered structural designs (e.g., cover layer, skeleton layer, base layer) to enhance strength and stability. These materials and structures allow industrial lightweight conveyor belts to maintain optimal performance under heavy loads and prolonged operation.
  2. General-Purpose Lightweight Conveyor Belts:

    • Often use simpler rubber or synthetic materials with a single- or double-layer structure. Such designs may lead to issues like wear and aging when subjected to heavy loads or extended use.

II. Performance Requirements

  1. Industrial Lightweight Conveyor Belts:

    • Must meet industry-specific performance standards (e.g., food-grade safety, anti-static properties). Additional manufacturing processes and quality controls are implemented during production to ensure durability.
  2. General-Purpose Lightweight Conveyor Belts:

    • Have lower performance requirements, primarily meeting basic material handling needs. Fewer manufacturing processes and quality controls result in reduced durability.

III. Service Life

  1. Industrial Lightweight Conveyor Belts:

    • Superior materials, structural design, and performance standards ensure a longer service life. Under normal operation and proper maintenance, high-quality industrial belts can last several years or longer.
  2. General-Purpose Lightweight Conveyor Belts:

    • Simpler materials and designs lead to shorter service life. Under similar conditions, these belts are prone to wear and aging, requiring more frequent replacement.
